Faraday Future FFZERO1

Faraday Future might not have shown quite the future most were expecting, but it was nonetheless impressive. In just 18 months, the Chinese-backed EV upstart automaker has designed an all-new and scalable electric architecture. Along with the impressive eco-friendly platform, FF also designed - with the help of virtual reality - the 1,000-horsepower FFZERO1 track car that hints at coming production models with its UFO body line. You might not be able to put up a down payment on an FF car you, but you may never have the chance - FF wants to offer mobility as a service rather than sell you a car.

BMW AirTouch 3D

When BMW showed its gesture control concept at the 2015 CES, no one thought it reach production - at least not right away. Then it went and put it into the dashboard of the 2016 7 Series. Now BMW has outdone itself already with the new AirTouch 3D gesture control system in the i Vision Future Interaction concept car. With it, you can control the car's in-dash screen just like a touchscreen without ever actually touching it. The super-cool-looking system is also the next step in reducing distracted driving.

Ehang passenger drone

Ehang, a Chinese drone maker, unveiled a high-flying 500-pound drone, which in theory would also be able to serve as an autonomous transportation vehicle for real humans. According to the company, the elegantly designed drone can fly one person at approximately 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour on a roughly 23-minute trip. The all-electric drone even has redundant equipment to ensure safety in bad weather One caveat: It's not legal in the U.S. yet.

Chevy Bolt

If driving the Tesla Model S is like driving the rich man's future, then driving the Chevy Bolt is like driving everyone else's. That's because the roomy but compact EV crossover boasts a 200+ mile range, seating for five and an impressive 10.2-inch touchscreen that debuts the new MyLink infotainment system. And you get all that for just $30,000. Forget range anxiety. Forget the Tesla Model 3. The Chevy Bolt is the world's first long-range EV for the masses.

Razer Blade Stealth

The Razer Blade Stealth may just be the most impressive laptop of the year and the year's only just begun. With a starting price of $999, the Blade Stealth undercuts even the most popular laptops like the Dell XPS 13 and MacBook Air, while offering more power and a high-res touchscreen. It's ridiculously thin (0.5-inches) and light (2.75 pounds) and comes with a Chroma-lit keyboard, which glows in 16.8 million different colors. The integrated graphics won't cut it for gamers, which is why Razer is also selling the Razer Core, an external graphics card dock that connects to the Blade Stealth and turns it into a supercharged desktop gaming PC within seconds.

Griffin BreakSafe

Apple's latest MacBook is a design win on many levels, but not for fans of the company's laptop-saving MagSafe connector, which was discarded in favor of USB-C. Griffin's BreakSafe connectorgets it back. The cable delivers power your MacBook but won't pull it over the edge of your desk if someone trips over it thanks to the magnetic "cap" on the end. Just try not to lose it.
